* “Laughter Lives at our house” week two …

Laughter LivesThis post is part of “Laughter Lives! Tuesday” on the Riggs Family Blog. Check our their blog to read everyone else’s “Laughter Lives!” posts.

And now without further ado, our second week of participating in “Laughter Lives!” Also, do not forget to click on over to the Riggs blog (use button above to be magically transported there), check on Abby and say a prayer for her & her family.

well I had a post all done up for this one and then low and behold, I checked on the Riggs blog this morning and they got a new theme we are suppose to write about this week and poof I had to delete the one I had written. This week’s theme is “funny ways we say I love you”

My children are all grown up babies now … but we still say “I love you” all the time. We tend to use lots of book jargin when saying “I love you” Like “I love you to the moon & back” or “I love you like crazy cakes”

But these two things are original to our home, I think:

when the girls were little, I made up silly nicknames for them … Herman Glodhopper & Elroy Mcbain, not sure why we chose those names but we still use them on occasion. So for instance, I would say “Herman Glodhopper, mommy loves you” and Anna would respond with “mommy, I am Anna, not Herman Glodhopper, do you still love me?” and the same with Chrisi & Elroy Mcbain. I would say, “I’m pretty sure you are Herman Glodhopper, but either way, mommy loves you”

And to this very day, my children do not go to bed, even if I have to text it to them, without me saying “goodnight, sweet sugar dreams, your mommy loves you”

and lets not forget the ever popular “who loves ya baby? mama does”

now go love on those kids of your’s today, even if they make you nuts somedays, it is so worth it.

me.

I absolutely love the names you made up. The best part is that you make sure to tell them you love them every night even by texting…we all need to follow your example!
