* I see the moon & the moon see’s the bus …

Today I was reminded of a very funny story about my mama. And since she is no longer here physically on earth with us, I feel somewhat safe in sharing it on the blog … however, she would not be above a good haunting, so if I call you or show up at your house in the middle of the night scared out of my mind, you’ll understand she took her revenge.

When I was in middle school I rode the bus to & home from school. That will be important in a minute, but first I should tell you this … growing up at my house included alot of modesty. We didn’t prance around in our scivvie’s or unclad for any reason. Our house was not really big but did have 4 different levels. My parents bedroom, at the time, (room location at our house is a post all of it’s own) anyway, their room was upstairs at this particular time. The laundry room, however, was on the 2nd floor. One morning I was late as usual and ran out to catch the bus. My big yellow cheese bus driver was waiting outside & right as I arrived at the bus, I realized I had forgotten my homework. She told me I had like 2 seconds to retrieve it before she folded up the sign and moved along without me or my homework. I ran back to the house, unbeknownst to me, my mama had made her way down the stairs completely naked to gather her dewrinkling clothes from the laundry room. She had made it as far as our den, where as luck would have it, the majority of the house is big glass windows floor to ceiling. She heard me coming on the porch and as what I would assume was an automatic reflex action, she jumped behind the living room drapes in order to hide her nudity from her unsuspecting daughter! And she was successfull, I didn’t see a thing … but (literally) her powder white naked fanny was on display for all the little junior high kiddos to gawk at. It took her about 2 seconds to figure this out and in the process of robing herself pulled the drapes clean down off the rod. Somehow this instantly became my fault! I think I was grounded for like the next week or so but it was so worth it. Never once in her life, that I am aware of, did she own up to having mooned my entire bus … but she sure did turn red anytime one of us would bring it up!

ps: I think I hear howling sounds and the wind is starting to pick up a little bit in this direction!

    This is hysterical. I wish she was here so I could ask her about it. Sure makes us all feel like we are normal. We all have some story like this. I loved it.

    see Margie, you knew my mom … doesn’t that make it even funnier? I laugh everytime I think about it. And if she were here, she would just turn red & walk off if you asked her about it or tell you it was all my fault to begin with! btw, where’s my funnel cake woman?
