I must tell you I am whooped. It was a busy day at work and an even busier evening here at the ole homeplace. Tomorrow night we will be heading north to Lenoir (go ahead and laugh all you campground haters, a 20 minute from home vacation is better than no vacation at all)! for a fun filled week of campfires, camping food & of course some quality time with my front porch friends. Much to my dismay, it does not appear that the weather is going to be overly cooperative for our first of many camping trips for this year. But truth be told, I can pile up with a good book or some movies and be just dandy. According to Richard, I have packed everything in our house & nothing else will possibly fit into the camper … little does he know! And now, I want to share with you my top ten reasons that I enjoy camping:

10. I know who last slept on the sheets.
9. the camper is much easier to keep clean & it doesn’t require me to wash my DNA out of the shower before I go home.
8. I love playing cards & board games, we seldom turn on a tv or computer.
7. I can easily ignore that there is a world outside the campground.
6. I love toasty golden marshmellows & bisquits on a stick.
5. there is no hot dog as good as one roasted over a campfire.
4. nobody cares what I look like at the campground.
3. I can sleep late & wear my pajama’s all day (even outside) if I want to.
2. breakfast cooked outdoors is reason enough alone to enjoy camping.
1. you never know what subject may come up for discussion around a campfire. I have laughed until I’ve cried, I’ve held my nose until I couldn’t breathe & I’ve sat still and just enjoyed the comfort of friendship.

I have no clue if we’ll have internet access while we’re gone or not. One year we did, one year we didn’t. Who knows. If I do, I will be posting pictures and only heaven knows what kind of stories … if not, someone (Thad and or Brad) will hopefully be updating our blog while I’m gone.
