* home home from the range …

Posted on August 16th, 2009 by melinda in Another day in the life of me.

I am happy to report that Anna and I have made it home safe & sound.  My house is still all in one piece, the dogs, kittens & horses look well fed & taken care of.  Chrisi and Bapa are good.  Thus, all is well on the homefront.

I dislike riding to Tennessee with a passion.  It’s a long, winding, mountainous ride.  I like driving there even less than I like riding.  For some reason in my old age, I have developed a fear of driving up and down twisty mountain roads squished between a cement wall and a transfer truck.  It gives me the ibbie jibbies.  I have to talk myself into not hyperventalating while driving.  Anna offered to drive but I don’t have a prescription for vallium so I opted to drive us myself.  The eventual reward upon arriving at my brother’s house is wonderful … the reward for arriving home, well it’s home and I like home pretty good.

Thank you for your comments about the new blog layout.  It looks like for the most part y’all are fine with it.  I know it takes a little getting use to but hopefully that won’t take but a day or two.  Also, thanks for the prayers and nice comments about our traveling, they were greatly appreciated.

I think I shall take my tired fanny to bed early tonight.  It’s back to work in the morning and as nice as it was to have some time off … I missed my friends at work and I’ll be glad to see them tomorrow.  Besides, hanging out at my brother’s isn’t likely to pay the bills, which makes me even happier to have a job to return to in the morning.

goodnight & sweet dreams.

I hope everybody will like it, I know it will take some getting use to but I really think we can do a lot more fun stuff with this layout. thad is still working on some more graphic stuff that I think will be pretty cool when he finishes it. love you, hope school is well and I’m going to miss seeing you tomorrow.

From one who has made that same trip for the last 20 years, it doesn’t ever get better. You just have to remind yourself that it is only a 20 mile stretch of those cement barriers.
