* Psalm 98:4

Hi.  On Tuesday of last week, I wrote this post.  If you haven’t read it yet, then the post I am fixin’ to write may not make much sense to you … so click and catch up.  In that post, I mentioned having the privilage of being asked to pray for someone.  I just want to share with y’all that my sweet friend got some really great news this week and all is well!

I must admit, I did my really ugly happy dance around my kitchen last night in celebration of the good news.  I made a joyful noise unto the Lord.   I’m sure He was pleased yet at the same time acknowledging the whole melinda has no singing talent thing.   My dogs were certainly wishing I had been blessed with the gift of singing.  I think they howled.  I’m pretty sure their howling was more in tune than my singing.  Oh well … the Psalm does not specifically imply that I have to make a pleasurable noise … just a joyful noise, which I was all over.

You know, I probably don’t do nearly enough of that making a joyful noise thing.  I am far more likely to point out my woe’s or simply be content that nothing earth shattering went wrong on any given day or sometimes I am just down right hateful.  Shame on me, and shame  on you too if you are in the same boat with me.  I ought to be making a joyful noise everyday … not just on days that God answers prayer in the way I hoped that He would answer them.

Last week, I asked you to pray Jerm: 33:6 (or any scripture you chose) for someone in your life that may be in need.  This week we are going to switch things up a bit …  This week, I will be, and would love for you to join me … making a joyful noise for the many blessings in my life.  I can think of 5 things in like 2 seconds that I am making a joyful noise for:

#1. my wonderful friend does not have cancer.

#2. Louise got great news at the doctor last week. (she would be Cat, Michele & Jeff’s mom).

#3. I had enough money to pay all of our bills for the month.

#4. we had an incredible worship service Sunday morning even though it was completely unorganized.

#5. you are here spending some time being a part of my life.

See how easy that was?  Won’t you join in?  I would love to know one thing or many things that you will be making a joyful noise about.  Don’t be shy.  If you think being quiet is a good plan … you may want to check out Luke 19 verse 40.  Maybe that will a good starting place for next week.  Read it … I double dog dare you.

ps: bleet bleet!

    i am thankful that my son was able to get back on the soccer field this week and not come home with a torn ACL. (that would be what happened the last time he got back on the field after rehabbing is previous torn ACL)
    i’m thankful that the finger he broke three weeks ago and had to have surgically repaired and requires a second surgery next week to remove pins was not an ACL or a head injury. proper perspective allows me to have a thankful heart even when medical bills are piling up faster than college bills (now that’s a feat, huh?)

    i am thankful that my niece that moved in with us that is going to community college here to establish residency so she can attend college as an in-stater one day found a really good job and is now generating income and is not under our financial tutelage anymore. and that she is going to be going through Quest, a Young LIfe training system for new leaders.
    i’m thankful for you for reminding me what a blessed life i have, even when life’s struggles threaten to take our eyes off the Creator of the Universe.
