* simple words …

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by melinda in my not so normal family

When is thank you not enough?  Tonight, thank you is not enough, but it’s all I’ve got.  I cannot begin to name names because surely I would forget someone, and tonight, forgetting would be a shame.  I want to personally thank each of you who worked so hard to make dad’s reception so special for our entire family.

To those of you who planned, baked, cooked, served & decorated … thank you.

To those of you who spoke kind words of encouragement, love & gratitude … thank you.

To those of you who took time from your busy schedules to celebrate with us … thank you.

To those of you who donated, purchased or made gifts and cards … thank you.

To our family & friends, to our democrat party & to every voter in Alexander County, who stood behind us, who stood with us … in the cold rain (twice) , who held us up when tomorrow didn’t seem possible, through our worst days, who put up & took down signs, who made phone calls, who stuffed & licked a million envelopes, who blew up balloons until you prayed you would never see a helium tank again …  and most importantly to those of you who went out and voted Bentley for Sheriff,  please know that we are forever grateful.  Tonight would not have been possible had those yesterdays not been accomplished.

As I get ready to go to sleep tonight, I can think only of how blessed we truly are. Dreams do come true.
