* yes, I know there are no Emma Joy pictures …

In the words of Emma Joy “oh nooo”!

I know y’all are all waiting patiently for me to post some pictures of the most beautiful child in the world and I would love to do that, problem is … for some reason unbeknownst to me, my computer has decided not to import the pictures from my camera card tonight.  I am just a tad miffed about it myself.  I would call Thad and ask him to help me fix it, but I think he’s heard enough of my petty whining for one day so I’ll give him a break until tomorrow.

For now, I thought I would share one of the many highlights from our Thanksgiving trip.  Exie (as Anna lovingly calls Dad’s explorer) decided to bite the dust right in a random parking lot.  I am very grateful we were still in TN and not on our way home.  The ride home, along with the ride out, were not so much fun without any added issues.  I am also very thankful to Thad and Brad’s good friend Animal for his very cheap and excellent labor.  They ordered the part yesterday afternoon and we were on the road again by this afternoon … can’t beat that kind of service.

So until tomorrow … I am glad to be home.  We had a great visit, minus the torture trail from you know where.  I am trying my best to convince myself that driving back out at Christmas won’t be nearly as long, but I’m not making much progress in that area so far.  I think it’s like having a baby, I’ll forget all about the pain and aggravation by tomorrow and be packed and ready to go on Christmas day.

Goodnight from home.

me.

i hope you honked as you drove through knoxville!!

your story reminds me of when we were in atlanta over easter. our car broke down and a mechanic towed us to his friends house in the sketchiest part of atlanta. his friend dropped everything to fix our suburban (on easter sunday, no less) and had us on our way in a few hours. we missed easter dinner at boy wonder’s girlfriend’s family’s home, but shared a memorable easter dinner with them at MexiWings off the athens, tn exit.
glad you made it home alright!

kimberly, had i known where your driveway was in knoxville after driving 95 hours to get that far, i might have pulled over and slept there for the night! the I40 rockslide is a pain! thanks for sharing your story, i’m glad we aren’t the only family in the world who have weird things happen.
