* just be quiet …

Posted on February 7th, 2010 by melinda in The Church House

Good Sunday morning.  I am sitting here in the complete quietness of my house, the only noise I can hear is the heat pump churning out warm air.  I was going thru some tote bags that I’m working on for some ladies at the church house and the very first one has Cathy’s favorite Bible verse on it … Be still and Know that I am God. Psalm 46:10.  I stopped for a minute and thought, you know, I don’t do that nearly enough.  It seems as if life goes at such a rapid pace, I seldom take time to simply be still and enjoy the knowledge that He is God.  He is God in the big and small, the good and the bad, the loud and the quiet.  So this morning, I sat all by myself and took some time to enjoy just being quiet and spending a few minutes in prayer before my family rolled out of bed and our hectic daily schedule begins.  I am very much looking forward to church this morning, I enjoy the fellowship of my church family and the atmosphere or our church house, I enjoy praising God as a body of believers … but this morning, I truly enjoyed Being still and Knowing that He is God

I hope you have a wonderfully blessed day.

    I agree totally with you. Many a morning it is just me up and I love the quietness that comes with it. I love going to my church on Sunday and missed it when it was cancelled last Sunday due to snow. God has looked out for me in many ways and for that I am truly thankful and give Him praise for it. Have a good day. God has finally let the sun shine on us in more than one way. Your post was definitely one of his rays. Thanks.

    This is my favorite verse for many reasons. I just feel like a lot of times we ask and ask for many things from God and each other, when we start to question God why he hasn’t answered….are we being still and listening to what the answer is? My mom used to answer because I am the mom (boy did I hate that one). Well I believe God tells us BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD…Just be still and listen to what God tells us and what he is saying, we may learn a lot.
