* a couple cups of craziness …
Can you hear me now?
How could you not hear her?
I’m not sure why or how … but our youth group decided to be overly self expressive tonight. They are a strange bunch. They make me laugh.
They are easily entertained. Or maybe, I am easily entertained. Whichever, it doesn’t really matter to me.
At least they are listening intently to what our lesson is about. Tonight, it was about modesty. About how important it is to respect your body, adjust your attitude and understand that your actions directly affect others. Our scripture was from Psalm 139 verses 13 thru 15: For it was You (God) who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was fromed in the depths of the earth. We had a very good discussion about modesty not being a form of punishment, but a form of self respect and Godly respect, because you know and understand that you are remarkably and wonderfully made. Modesty can come in many forms, not only in dress, but in attitude, service, humbleness, etc … by being modest, we allow others to see God in us and we don’t lead others in to temptation or sin. The kids had some great thoughts and opinions on our topic.
They may be a bit odd and doofy …
But they are each and everyone, absolutely, without a doubt … remarkably and wonderfully made! I am so glad we get a chance to be part of their lives.
me.
