* I didn’t know bowling was dangerous …

Posted on February 23rd, 2010 by melinda in Another day in the life of me.

Ouch … this getting old thing is beginning to be painful.  I no longer have full movement in my right arm.  It feels like it has a permanent charlie horse.  I think I must have over extended it Saturday night during my bowling incarcerationdate.  By saying over extending … I mean, I picked up a 10 lb ball & attempted to hurl it at down the lane at a rapid pace.  It didn’t work out for me so well.  At the time, I thought, gosh that hurt for no good reason and chalked it up to being out of bowling shape.  Although, in my defense, I thought round was a bowling shape but in retrospect I guess not.  Who knew bowling could be a dangerous sport?  It’s not like I was hopping up on the back of a bull or riding in a truck thru the mountains with my husband, both of which could be deemed equally dangerous.  But bowling?  Bowling is a sport for us lesser inclined to run people.  I do have one problem, other than my current elbow issue, with bowling.  My fingers are too fat big to fit in those little tiny holes on the balls that weigh less than 1800 pounds.  So I have 2 choices, small holes on a ball I can actually pick up or holes that fit on a way to heavy ball.  Obviously, I went with the heavier ball.  Bad choice.  I have come to the conclusion that I should be a bowling spectator from now on.  I would offer to keep score, cause I am a genius and actually know how to keep a bowling score card, but that’s all computerized now so that isn’t even an option.  I don’t drink so being the beer girl is out, plus I’m clumsy.  And you can no longer smoke at the bowling alley so being the designated smoker is out too.  The more I ponder it … the more reasons I come up with to never go bowling again.  I’m gonna have to get out my “fat people are harder to kidnap” sticker so my husband won’t try to kidnap me again!

ps: I look pretty hot in my bowling picture … don’t ya think?
