* dad’s home …

Posted on June 21st, 2010 by melinda in my not so normal family

Oh, daddy is home from where his evil captors roam, and the deer and horses can’t play.

Where seldom is heard the “take a break” words, and the labor drags on all day!

Sing with me y’all!

If for any reason, you happen to read a comment from my brother that speaks of me whining, crying and/or pouting until my daddy finally agreed to come … ignore it, it’s a lie.  He came home because once he saw me and the girls he missed us so much he couldn’t stand the thought of not leaving with us.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Now that we’ve straightened that all out, It’s good to be home.  We had a wonderful trip to Tenn. for Father’s Day weekend.  All kidding and joking aside, I can think of nothing better than spending a weekend piled up with my family, even though I did miss Richard.  We played, we hung out, we cooked, we baked, we laughed and we loved on Emma Joy!  I was sad to leave, but I’m always sad to leave.  Nothing would suit me more than for all of us to live at the same place and get to spend as much time as we wanted to together.  Of course, Thad and I would have to take turns being boss.  I say, I get to be boss Monday thru Saturday and he can be boss on Sunday from 8 am until 5 pm and then it’s my turn again.

I hear an ugly rumor that my dad only plans to stay at home for a week or so and then he is heading back out to Tenn.  I promise not to complain about that, simply because we won’t be home and he refuses to sleep in our camper at the campground.   And as selfish as I readily admit that I am, I don’t especially enjoy the notion of him being home all alone while we are on vacation.  I say that like he needs one of us to take care of him, which he doesn’t, but I need to tell myself that he does … it’s just what I do.

I will be posting some pictures of our baking fest tomorrow night.  I just haven’t had time to download them yet.  Right now, I’m going to go spend some quality time with the handsome fellow who has been hard at work on our house while I was gone.

Missed y’all, I’m glad to be back.  G’night.

me.
