* tales from the trellerhood park …
It’s official … I live in the hood. I can no longer make fun of the east side girls, it just wouldn’t be right. I kept trying to tell y’all that I wasn’t a snooty west side girl, that I actually lived in the ghetto, but nooo, y’all wouldn’t listen and called me snotty any way, shame on you! But seriously, someone please explain to me this one little thing … how can there be a shooting (literally) 2 houses up the road from my house and I slept right thru it? That lunesta is some really powerful stuff I tell ya!
So, to fill you in, the other night, one of my neighbors shot another neighbor in the arm. Nobody died and as of yet nobody has gone to jail. Apparently shooter neighbor thought got shot neighborwas a burglar, and maybe he was, who knows, so he by gosh shot him. I didn’t even know anybody got shot at much less shot for real. I’m sitting at my desk working away Friday morning and my friend Gina comes in and casually says “so melinda, who got shot on your road last night”? I was like whaaaa? She’s all like yea, some guy shot some other guy for breaking in his house in the middle of the night. I was all like nuh uh! Turns out she was right. Looks like I’m not much good at the whole community watch thing. I cannot believe I slept thru that, although I am grateful it didn’t wake me up, cause then I’da been really ticked. Y’all can shoot at each other all you want but if it interferes with my sleeping then we may have an issue. Or if a bullet hits my house, near my house, in my yard, my car, near my car, my dogs, near my dogs or my family (not in that exact order of course) we are going to have an issue. I mean just cause I technically live in a treller does not mean I condone treller hood activities such as shooting your neighbor, even if he busted up in your house and even if he doesn’t die. What’s that old saying? it’s all good till someone has to go to the ER? Well, someone had to go to the ER round here Thursday night. Besides, my treller is a double wide with brick under pinning which in my humble opinion makes me exempt from the treller hood status clause, don’t y’all think so too?
And if all that wasn’t interesting enough, the S.O. posted a news release about the shooting on FB and I get a call from one of my favorite east side girls making sure it wasn’t my house that got broken in to and I wasn’t in jail for shooting someone, followed by a lecture about how I ought not be telling y’all that Richard is working out of town. So again, for clarity sakes, please don’t break in to my house or I will have to call my neighbor to come shoot you. Although, I should point out, he must not be a very good shot, so you may only end up wounded and not dead.
In light of the new hood status the devils track is aquiring I may have to consider packing my stuff and moving back down to my daddy’s whether he likes it or not. He might be hard put to argue with the whole “but daddy I might get shot in the middle of the night” guilt card I plan to use if this keeps up!
me.

I am so glad you are safe.
This east side girl loves you
Considering how much land is probably inbetween you and the shooter man I would not worry. Come to think of it, I had completely forgotten the road you live on was the same one! Now that is bad. I never was good at directions. Glad to see you so up beat but I am sure your dad would welcome you with open arms as long as you cooked him something. LOL
Thanks for your help the other night but as you know nothing in my life is ever simple and this wasnt either. Long story short….his tag never had the sticker put on from over a yr ago and found out taxes were still owed so he still could not get them til his dad went down and paid the taxes and changed the address again. So here I was worried he was driving around with an expired tag for a week or so and turns out he had been driving around with an expired tag since Aug of 09 AND no registration. Boy did he (we) get lucky!
