* vacation is over …

Posted on November 8th, 2010 by melinda in Another day in the life of me.

(knocking the dust off this page) … as mr. preacher man has so astutely pointed out over on the little chat bar thing, I have been a bit ehhem lax in updating our blog as of late.  However, this time, I have good reason.  In fact, I have an entire list of good reasons … shall I share them with you? No? You know I’m going to anyway.

Reasons why our blog has been on vacation:

1. I’m 42 now, cut me some slack. I’m getting old.

2. There was an election last week, just in case y’all didn’t get the 4075,000 political ads in your mail box and didn’t realize there was an election.  Anyway, elections mean, melinda is: a) a nervous nutball. b) a little busy, although my dad wasn’t running so that made me a lot less busy. c) excited, anxious and hopeful all at the same time.  Plus, I seldom if ever blog about politics so it made anything I would have had to say pointless the past few weeks.  I am proud to announce, in case you live on Mars and didn’t know, that my boss won and as far as I know, I will remain employed for the next 4 years.  Luckily for you, I won’t be needing to move in with you or park my camper in your drive way in the foreseeable future.  Ps: on the whole election thing … is it bad when your dad comes to the precinct you are working for your boss and asks the voters to vote for your boss so he doesn’t have to “let you move back home again“? I mean not that my dad would ever do that, I was just curious.

3. My feet are angry with me, they aren’t speaking to me.  I am in all honesty ever so thankful for a job that includes a chair.  That whole working a precinct thing involved 13 hours of standing.  I was tired after about the first 32 minutes.

4. When Richard is home on the weekends, blogging somehow doesn’t seem like a priority.  It’s odd how much I really miss him.  And, just so you know, he is in the no hair cut phase again … oh yay, lucky me.

5. I am learning to tend to an injured horse who hates me.  I think I told y’all about Anna’s horse Jack getting all tangled up in barbed wire in like July, well he still isn’t completely better and her schedule does not accommodate her being able to clean and bandage him every single time it needs to be done and since Richard won’t drive 4 hours home every single day to do it … that leaves yours truly.  If you are ever in need of a good laugh, just come on over and watch me try to clean a horses leg, while not getting stepped on or pooped on.  It’s quite humorous.  I don’t even like horses up close.  I only like watching them in the pasture, far away from me, in a fence that I’m not in, cause fences are dangerous.

6. Somewhere in all of that, we went camping for an extended weekend and had a wonderful time.  However, I did learn a valuable lesson … Greg cannot be trusted with a camera.

7. Work is kicking my behind.

8. I injured myself with popcorn. I will elaborate on that later this week.

9. Revival is this week and as much as I love y’all, I’m pretty sure revival comes first.

So there ya have it.  The very condensed version of the past 3 weeks of my life and the list of reasons our little blog has been on extended vacation.

I’ve missed  y’all, what have you been up to?

ps: this post does not include a cute picture simply because I am too tired or lazy to go find one.

me.

    Just remember one big point about #6! “Greg” cannot be trusted with a camera, when it comes back to paybacks just because we are a couple does not mean I supported him in this decision, so no pictures of me while camping!!! O.K. I am glad we are straight on things, I am glad you are back up and blogging!!

    I did see your daddy on election day and got in my hugs and told him Happy belated Birthday! He tried to tell someone I was a “wild thing” and except for the bull ride you and I did, I have no clue what he is talking about. LOL I have missed you too. And BTW, being 10 yrs older than you, 42 IS NOT OLD!!!!!!!!!
